I can’t think of a more iconic symbol of the Beauty & the Beast love story, than the red rose. (Have I mentioned it’s my favorite movie yet?) One my favorite things to do to unwind is crochet, which is why I set out to combine my love of all things Beauty & the Beast, with crochet. In doing so I learned how to make these beautiful, 3D applique roses!!
They are perfect for embellishing just about anything: headbands, bags, scarfs, hats, pins, etc. Or simply create a bouquet and give someone a gift that will never wilt. In my neighborhood we have a lot of little Disney princess fans, so for us, they roses mostly been used in imaginative play (everyone with a Belle doll has to have a rose to go with it), Halloween costumes and to adorn a gift in a Belle themed birthday party.
I found the perfect YouTube video to teach me how to make these gorgeous flowers. Donna Wolfe of Naztazia.com created this straightforward and easy to follow video that’s perfect for all levels!!!! Trust me I was basically a beginner when I learned how to do this. Donna’s website offers free patterns and links for easy to follow YouTube tutorial videos, so it’s great if you’re like me and you learn best by watching someone.
As an added bonus, her videos can be viewed in over 100 languages. She shows you how to accomplish this in the beginning of her video. Additionally, if you need help with the basics of crochet, fear not she has beginner crochet videos that will help you learn all of the stitches.

At the end of the video after the Rose is done, she also teaches you how to crochet gorgeous leaves to go with it. (not pictured in my photos)

Hi. I am thrilled to be joining everyone on Main Street Wishes. In a nutshell I’m a nurse, a mom and a runner who also happens to be slightly obsessed with Disney. I completed the Goofy Challenge in the Disney World Marathon and loved running through the castle.
