During my recent visit to Disney World I got to see the progress that has been made on the Skyliner. It’s coming along nicely and it will be exciting to try it out when it opens this fall.
The two areas I was able to see were Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The Hollywood Studios station and the gondolas at that station have definitely been tested more, but when I visited I did not see them running, they were stationary. However, the coverings were off all of the gondolas, so you can see the different colors and designs. There are quite a few gondolas with character designs on them and it’s going to be fun seeing those pass overhead when it opens.
The station at Epcot is coming along nicely too. My friend and I got to see the gondolas being tested during one visit to the park and it looked like they were being tested at full speed. These gondolas are still covered, but the covers will probably be removed after a bit of testing, just like Hollywood Studios.
It was nice to see the progress that has been made on the Disney Skyliner system. It’s definitely helping to build the anticipation of it opening. No specific date has been announced as an opening date, but I’ll keep a lookout for that announcement.
Are you planning on riding the Skyliner when it opens?
Thanks for reading!
