For almost two months now Mobile Ordering has been available through the My Disney Experience App. It started with one restaurant, Satu’li Canteen, and has expanded to six quick service restaurants on Disney property.
The latest restaurant was added just this morning. Guests in the Magic Kingdom can now use Mobile Ordering for Tomorrowland Terrace in Tomorrowland. The quick service restaurant offers things like burgers, salads, chicken strips, pulled pork sandwiches, and they have kids’ meals. There are also a selection of drinks and desserts for guests to choose from.
When Mobile Ordering began with Satu’li Canteen Disney said they would be expanding over the summer to other restaurants in other parks. It’s nice to see them expanding so quickly. I really love this option and feel that it will help to cut down on the lines at quick service restaurants, especially during the busier times.
How Does it Work?
It’s a really easy process to order. In just a few steps your food is ordered and even paid for in the app. So all you have to do is let them know when you are ready to pick it up. So easy!
First open the My Disney Experience app. At the bottom you will see the character you chose for your icon. As you can see from the picture, mine is Daisy Duck.
Click on the character icon and you will see a list of options come up on the screen. This is where you can make and link dining reservations, make and link FastPasses, and more. The Mobile Ordering option is also on this screen.
When you click on Mobile Ordering you will see a list of quick service restaurants. These are the restaurants that accept Mobile Ordering.
Pick a restaurant from the list, place your order, and pay. That’s it! Then when you are ready for your food click “I’m here” and they will make your food and alert you when it is ready.
I played around with the Mobile Ordering and it’s really easy and pretty user friendly. Unfortunately, you cannot use the Disney Dining Plan or gift cards at this time with Mobile Ordering. They are only accepting credit cards right now for the orders, but hopefully they will find a way to be able to incorporate the dining plans and gift cards at some point.
I’m glad to see the Mobile Ordering is working out and can’t wait to try it the next time we are in Disney World! It’s a nice option and a definite bonus for those busy days in the parks.
Have you tried Mobile Ordering yet?
Thanks for reading!
