It’s time for another Tuesday’s Tip from a Dream Makers Travel Agency vacation planner! This week Beth is discussing how she keeps her feet happy while spending the day in Magic Kingdom.
Beth has been visiting Disney World since 1981 and, like all of us at Dream Makers Travel Agency, is a huge Disney fan. She loves planning and counting down to Disney trips, so becoming a travel agent that specializes in Disney vacations just made sense! One of her favorite memories is when her husband proposed to her in Disney World. Magical memories are the best! So, without further ado, here is Beth’s tip for the week!
I can’t stress the importance of taking good care of your feet during your Disney visits!
Before your trip you should buy a great pair of comfy sneakers. Wear them a few times to break them in before your trip. It’s not a bad idea to bring an extra pair of sneakers; if you are in the park open to close, it can sometimes help to switch off. This can also come in handy if it rains. Soggy sneakers are just not comfortable.
Just as important as wearing comfortable walking shoes, is getting off your feet a few times a day. These are a few of the things I enjoy doing to “take a load off” and still enjoy the magic at the Magic Kingdom.
I head to Frontierland grab a turkey leg and a cold drink. From there I hop on a raft and head over to Tom Sawyer Island. There I do a bit of exploring, I love the caves! Before heading back, I find a nice soft place on the island to sit for a while and enjoy my turkey leg, sip my drink and rest.
Another way to have a lot of laughs while resting your feet is the Country Bear Jamboree, also in Frontierland. The show is comprised of animatronic figures; most of the figures are bears who perform country music. The characters move around the stage, descend from the ceiling and appear seemingly out of nowhere from behind curtains.
In Adventureland, one of my favorite resting spots is the Enchanted Tiki Room. Here you will be able to sit and listen to a wide variety of animatronic birds sing and put on a show you will never forget!
Tomorrowland is where you will find the PeopleMover. Not only can you rest (sometimes even put your feet up), but you will have an amazing view of Tomorrowland and yes Cinderella Castle. Personally, I can never get enough of the castle!
Mickey’s PhilharMagic is in the middle of Fantasyland. This 3D performance of Donald Duck trying to fill in for Conductor Mickey is just so adorable. It is a must see for me every visit.
A new spot I have found is right in front of Cinderella Castle. There are several grassy areas just perfect to lie down and rest. Taking the time for an ice cream break in this area is also not bad idea. A great time for this is about an hour before “Happily Ever After” the new nighttime fireworks show. You rest, get a perfect view of the laser show on the castle and the fireworks.
These are just a few of my favorite spots to sit back, relax, rest my feet and just enjoy the magic!
Thanks for the tip, Beth! The PeopleMover is definitely one of my favorite places to relax too. Another favorite is the Carousel of Progress, it’s a classic and it’s always a great place to sit for a bit and let your feet rest.
