Yesterday, I posted the picture above and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some great guesses and some people got it right!
The decoration in the picture is located in the meet and greet area for Merida in Magic Kingdom. It’s on one of the walls in the queue line. In my opinion, this is one of the best decorated meet and greet areas.
You can find Merida in the Fairytale Garden, which is right around the corner from the castle, on the way to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. We were advised to get in line early, because her lines get long and stay long. I’m glad we took this advice, because the line was already getting long when we arrived. There isn’t a ton of shade in the line, because the line wraps around to the path that goes behind the castle, so just keep that in mind. If you get in line too late, you will be waiting in the sun for a while.
Once you get into the meet and greet area there’s a lot to see, as I said above. Merida’s target is right by where you will meet her, there are banners and tapestry hanging from the walls (one of which has her family on it), flags, and other different props that fit with the theme. There’s also a stone table you will see when you first walk in the area. Cast Members put coloring pages and crayons for kids to use after they meet with Merida, so they don’t have to leave right away, which is nice.
This is definitely a favorite meet and greet for our family. Merida is fun to talk to and the area is decorated so well; it’s very immersive.
If you plan to visit Merida, remember that the lines get long early and stay long throughout her meeting times. I would check the times guide or the My Disney Experience app to see what times she’s meeting the day you are there. Once you know the times, plan to get there at least 15 to 20 minutes before she starts meeting guests.
Have you been to Merida’s meet and greet area?
Thanks for reading!

We love the count down app! We have loved Disney since our kids were little. My husband is retired Navy and we have taken our kids to Disney world and Disneyland (depending on our duty station) through the years now that we are home in Missouri, we try to go every 2-3 years with the kids and grandkids! Our count down right now is 65 days till our next trip! Thanks, Kay Bell
Hi Kay!
Thank you so much for your kind words about the app! It’s appreciated. 🙂
I hope you and your family have a very magical trip!! There’s nothing like spending time with family and Disney makes that time so magical.
And please thank your husband for his service! That is also greatly appreciated!
