Yesterday I posted the above picture asking for guesses as to where the Ferris wheel is located. I thought this one would be a little harder, but quite a few people knew where it was!
The Ferris wheel is located on the second floor of the Grand Floridian lobby. I honestly had never noticed it before, but I was wondering around after visiting the gingerbread house and saw it. It’s cute and looks like it’s an old piece, because some of the paint has faded or chipped. The fading paint adds to it’s charm though.
There’s a lot to see in the Grand Floridian lobby. It’s five stories and it is a stunning lobby. On the first floor are very nice pieces of furniture for guests to relax on, a piano that a grand pianist plays during the day, stores right off the lobby, and there are restaurants just off the lobby as well. Up on the second floor are more stores, Ivy Trellis Salon (adults can get fairytale makeovers here), and the orchestra is also on the second floor. Sitting in the lobby listening to the orchestra is a nice way to relax after a busy day in the parks.
Here’s what you can find in or right off the lobby:
Stores
- Basin White
- Commander Porter’s
- M. Mouse Mercantile
- Sandy Cove Gifts and Sundries
- Summer Lace
Restaurants
- Citricos
- Narcoossee’s
- Victoria and Albert’s
- 1900 Park Fare
- Garden View Tea Room
- Grand Floridian Cafe
- Gasparilla Island Grill
Right now, the Grand Floridian lobby also has the gingerbread house on display and their giant Christmas tree is up too. If you have never been to the Grand Floridian, I would recommend stopping over to at least see the lobby. It really is beautiful and it’s fun to walk around and explore the different resorts.
Thanks to everyone who played along this week and congratulations to those that knew where the Ferris wheel is located! We’ll play again next Wednesday!
Thanks for reading!
