Last week I posted the above picture and asked for guesses as to where it is located. There were some great guesses, but one person knew where to find the symbols.
Congratulations to Steve who knew the symbols can be found at the Festival of the Lion King show in Animal Kingdom. Specifically, they are located on the platform where some of the show takes place. The platform has different symbols on it, but these are located on the stairs.
Festival of the Lion King is a Broadway style show that takes place multiple times throughout the day at the Harambe Theater in the Africa section of the park. There are four sections of seating, so the theater fits a good amount of people inside. Seeing the show is also a nice way to get out of the sun during the hot summer months.
Once guests enter the theater they are directed to one of the four sections: Lions, Giraffes, Warthogs, and Elephants. At the beginning of the show one of the four main singers will come over to their designated group and pick someone from the seats to join them in coaching everyone else to make the sound of the animal of that section. It’s a fun way to interact with the singers and a great way to start the show. The singers then join each other on the mobile stage and finish singing the opening number. The singers are a big part of why I love this show, their voices are beautiful and powerful. I always get goosebumps during the show.
Also part of the show are four floats with moving animatronic animals on them. Pumbaa and Simba each have their own float and they interact with Timon throughout the show. It’s a really upbeat show that’s filled with lots of great entertainers and music from the movie. One popular act from this show are the Tumble Monkeys who do a lot of acrobatics. They’re really entertaining to watch and their acrobatic skills are impressive, which is why they are a popular part of the show.
If you haven’t seen this show I highly recommend putting it on your list of things to see during your next Animal Kingdom day. This is one of those experiences that I do every time I visit the park and I always leave the theater in a good mood because of the music.
Congratulations to Steve and thanks to everyone who played along! Another Where is it Wednesday picture will be up soon. Have you seen The Festival of the Lion King?
Thanks for reading!
